WLA-1 Series delivers powerful, controlled sound for Soulburn and Club De Cherry Wine Market.

Eventtechnik Ludwig deployed a Wharfedale Pro WLA-1 system for Soulburn and the Club De Cherry Wine Market in Bielefeld, Germany, delivering high-quality sound for an audience of around 1,500 people while maintaining precise control of low-frequency output.

Owner Eric Ludwig was looking for a high-performance line array system that could meet the demands of large-scale events without exceeding the project’s budget. The system needed to provide consistent coverage and achieve 99 dBA continuous levels with peaks of up to 105 dBA across the audience area.

The following system was deployed:

• 6 × WLA-112 line array elements
• 4 × WLA-218BX subwoofers
• 2 × DP-2200F amplifiers for the subwoofers
• 1 x DP-4100F amplifier for the WLA-1 elements

The WLA-1 system provided the required output and coverage for the event, with DJ LIVA K headlining the programme.

A key requirement was the ability to control low-frequency energy beyond the rear of the venue. Eventtechnik Ludwig configured the WLA-218BX subwoofers in an inverted stack gradient array (iSGA) arrangement using factory DSP presets, helping reduce bass emissions towards the rear and minimise potential disturbance to local residents.

With approximately 1,500 attendees at the event and plans for significantly larger audiences in the future, the system also provides Eventtechnik Ludwig with a scalable solution capable of supporting future events.
