Around the world, the WLA-28 and WLA-28X line array systems have become highly respected for sound quality, easy rigging and overall reliability. There is however a big ‘enemy’ for these systems. That enemy is…. H20…..water!

Introducing 3 new models in the WLA-28X family which overcome nature and give total peace of mind for outdoor installations and events! The all new F version (waterproof) WLA-28XF, WLA-28SUBXF and WLA-218BXF.

With reliability and high performance characteristics built from the ‘non-F’ models, these new XF models are IPX6 Certified. This certification states that there should be no harmful effects when “Water is projected in powerful jets (12.5mm nozzle) against the enclosure from any direction”

With rust-proof aluminium grilles, components wrapped in wax and anti-corrosion stainless steel screws and hardware, the F models are made for the rain and long-term environmental exposure.

In addition, to reduce any risk of standing water, and to help rental companies with storage, the front grille has been flattened.

Safely protected from the rain, are the all-important drivers.

Dual 8.0″ Wharfedale Pro LF drivers with 2.0″ voice coils deliver a smooth and powerful sound as expected from a WLA series array.

The HF compression driver uses a neo magnet and a 3.0″ voice coil to produce detailed HF without harshness, even at high volumes.

The WLA-28SUBXF features 2 x 15″ custom Wharfedale Pro drivers with 4.0″ voice coils.

Designed for flying or ground stacking, this sub delivers a Max SPL @ 1 meter of 145 dB.

WLA-28XF system is supported inside EASE Focus.

Arrays can be assembled using only WLA-28XF line array elements or with the WLA-28SUBXF Subwoofers at the top of the array.

The WLA-XF Common Fly Frame supports up to 12 x WLA-28XF elements and a WLA-28SUBXF.

All models of the WLA-28XF system use certified input connectors.

Inside the carton box there are also the cable connectors needed for easy system setup.

WLA-28XF rigging doubles up as an optimised ground stacking system, using the WLA-28SUBXF subwoofer as a base.

Arrays of WLA-28XF line array elements can be aimed downwards by as much as 10° to cover audience areas close to a stage, as well as upward by as much as 10° in order to better cover distant balcony seating areas.

A Versadrive DSP (such as SC-48 FIR) or a DP-N series amplifier with internal FIR filtering is highly recommended to get the most from the system.  Phase, EQ and filtering should be applied and this way, the physics of the system can be truly optimised – delivering that sub-bass, power and clarity that this system can deliver.
