WLA-1 Series Brings Impressive Game-Day Audio to Playsport Arena, Home of the Caledonia Gladiators

Playsport Arena in East Kilbride, home of the Caledonia Gladiators basketball team, has upgraded its match-day audio system with a new Wharfedale Pro WLA-1 system, designed to bring fans closer to the action with powerful, consistent coverage across the court.

Installed by Dizzyfish, the system was specified to meet the demanding requirements of professional indoor sport, delivering clarity and impact at both low and high crowd capacities, from empty-arena testing through to full game-day environments.

The following system was deployed:

• 4 × hangs of WLA-112 line array elements (2 per side of court)
• 1 × WLA-121SUB subwoofer per hang
• Powered by Wharfedale Pro DP-F Series amplifiers

This configuration ensures balanced coverage across the seating bowl, combining controlled vocal intelligibility for commentary and announcements with high-impact low-frequency performance for intro music and live game atmosphere.
