GPL-218B is a dual 18″ bass-reflex subwoofer from our GPL Series, engineered to deliver extreme low-frequency power and precision for large-scale fixed installations and performance venues.
Featuring two 18″ LF drivers with 4.0″ voice coils, GPL-218B provides immense output capability with exceptional control and thermal stability. Its dual-chamber bass-reflex design extends low-frequency response while maintaining punch and definition, ensuring powerful, distortion-free bass even at the highest output levels.
Built from birch plywood and finished in durable black or white Tough-Tone paint, GPL-218B combines strength, efficiency, and visual versatility. Professional 4 pole speaker connectors and barrier strip connectors allow secure integration into high-performance sound systems.
Delivering 2000 W continuous (8000 W peak) power and achieving 148 dB max SPL at 1 m, GPL-218B forms the ultimate foundation for GPL full-range loudspeakers. FIR preset libraries and EASE .gll files are available to ensure perfect system alignment and predictable performance in any installation.

OVERVIEW
With a more natural and prominent sound than standard point source systems, Wharfedale Pro announce the GPL Series.
Compact cabinets and coaxial drive units make the GPL series perfect for theatre, enterprise, bars, nightclubs and live music applications. 12 new models, including bass-reflex and a band-pass subwoofer, available in either black or white finishes means that the GPL series is serious for fixed installation projects where audio quality matters.
A unique characteristic of the GPL series is that all full range models feature an original design waveguide horn. This allows the high frequency range to be addressed directly to the audience and reduces undesired reflections. The “HQ” models of the series are equipped with a turntable constant directivity horn for even more accurate asymmetrical coverage.
All GPL models use premium Baltic birch plywood construction.
Not only does this create a solid and durable cabinet, but it also contributes to the overall sound and character.
GPL is also covered in our most durable and hard wearing Tough-Tone paint finish. This ensures that a GPL loudspeaker will always look as good as the day you installed it.
Installations can be complicated enough, so Wharfedale Pro have made GPL series as easy as possible.
GPL-5 and GPL-8 are quickly fixed to a wall using the WPB-3 wall bracket or the included steel yoke. GPL-12, GPL-12HQ, GPL-15 and GPL-15HQ are quickly fixed to a wall using the WPB-1 wall bracket or the included steel yoke.
These models are also compatible with Powerdrive Series 100 or Omnimount Series 60 installation brackets.
All full range models in the GPL series are supported with EASE .gll files.
